Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of sarees does DAXAN sell?

DAXAN sells handloom cotton sarees sourced directly from weaving clusters in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The range covers mul cotton from Santipur, Kanchi cotton with woven zari and temple borders, south cotton and Chettinad checks, jute and linen, Madurai Sungudi tie-and-dye, and hand-worked kalamkari and bandhani.

What is mul cotton and how is it different from ordinary cotton?

Mul cotton is woven from finer yarn than everyday cotton, which makes it lighter, softer and semi-sheer. It drapes in fluid folds rather than holding a stiff pleat, and it is cooler to wear in heat. Finer yarn is measured by count, so a higher count number means a finer, lighter cloth.

Does a DAXAN saree come with a blouse piece?

It depends on the saree. Pieces listed as with blouse include an unstitched blouse length, usually taking the total to about 6.2 metres. Pieces listed as without blouse are the saree alone, around 5.5 metres. The blouse status is stated on every product page.

How should a handloom cotton saree be washed?

Hand wash separately in cold water for the first few washes, as natural dyes can release colour. Dry in shade rather than direct sunlight, and use a warm iron. Sarees with zari or beadwork are better dry cleaned, or hand washed with care taken around the border.

Where does DAXAN ship, and what does delivery cost?

DAXAN ships across India. International enquiries are accepted for Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and GCC destinations including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. Current shipping rates and delivery timelines are listed on the Shipping & Delivery page.

Are handloom irregularities a defect?

No. Slight variation in the weave, small slubs in the yarn and minor differences in colour between pieces are characteristic of hand production. They indicate the saree was woven on a handloom rather than by machine, and are not treated as defects.

Helpful answers about fabrics, fit, orders, delivery, group enquiries and DAXAN’s final-sale process.

01

How do I select the right garment size?

Use the garment measurements shown on the product page rather than relying only on a familiar size label. Compare bust, waist, hip, shoulder, garment length and preferred ease. For sarees, review length, width, blouse-piece details and transparency. Contact DAXAN before payment when you are between sizes or unsure about fit.

02

What do 100, 120 and 140 count mulmul mean?

Count terminology can vary by supplier and production method. DAXAN should publish a count claim only when the source information is verified, and should also describe the practical qualities customers can evaluate: weight, opacity, softness, weave, drape and intended use. Product-specific information takes priority over a general category description.

03

Which DAXAN pieces suit professional wardrobes?

The Professional Edit is organised for IT professionals, banking and client-facing roles, teachers and professors. Look for breathable fabrics, useful pockets, secure necklines, comfortable sleeve lengths, easy movement and silhouettes that remain composed through a long workday.

04

Can I place a coordinated group or party order?

Yes, subject to product availability, quantities, size range and lead time. DAXAN can discuss coordinated sarees, cotton sarees, cotton sarees or sarees for family events, teachers, institutions, teams and professional groups. Submit the date, quantity, preferred colours, size mix, destination and budget before confirming.

05

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

DAXAN does not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, fit, colour preference, style preference, duplicate purchase or customer selection error. Review the measurements, fabric, colour notes, product images and final-sale policy before checkout. This does not remove remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

06

What should I do if the parcel or item is damaged?

Photograph visible outer damage before opening. Record one continuous, unedited video showing the sealed parcel, shipping label, complete opening, every item and the issue. Keep all packaging and contact care@daxan.in within 48 hours of recorded delivery. Where a video could not reasonably be made, send all other credible evidence immediately.

07

Do you deliver internationally?

DAXAN accepts international purchase enquiries from Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and GCC destinations. Direct checkout may not be enabled for every country. Before payment, the team will confirm product availability, payment route, courier option, estimated delivery, duties, taxes and final-sale conditions for the destination.
